Happy post-Thanksgiving, everyone! I hope your 2014 Thanksgiving was a well spent one and filled with blessings from having time spent with your loved ones!
I was able to make my very first music video using the R Pubcast’s music – All About That Grace – that was a parody for All About That Bass. I’m very thankful to the group for allowing me to use their recording of their parody to actually make it into a music video by lip syncing to it. And for them, I did upload a separate video to make a shout out to them to thank them.
This video is the very first video where I placed in any trade mark in for either Otaku World or OtakuTO, the later one being my own photography page on Facebook currently. And even though this is the very first video where I did my very first music video, this isn’t my first edit. However, it is my first time making an actual live action video rather than an AMV (Anime Music Video). Honestly speaking, having to make this sort of videos are far easier for being able to figure out exactly how scenes should look like and how you would want it to go when you’re the one to direct it and do it yourself.
However, it becomes a little hard when knowing that it’s going to be a one man – or, in my case, one woman – production. And all the right things needs to be in place, such as tripod for the camera, the camera itself, and change of clothes (and possibly wigs) depending on how many different “people” or “characters” you need if having to do it all alone. But more so than just those named, one of the most important things is location, location, location. Where things are filmed and in what ways are real important as well.
With this video’s case, because the music was Christian based, I chose out a church. To be more specific, my own church that’s located over in Somerset, New Jersey, which the town is the home of NJ’s biggest convention, AnimeNEXT, which takes places literally right around the corner from my church. And for the Holy Savior, because he was described to be a “groom” at one point in the music, I grabbed what I could in the closet that’s as close to a suit in my closet. And because of the length of my hair being long and not wanting to make the role I was already doing looking exactly alike to the Holy Savior (Holy Spirit or Jesus, whichever way you would want to take it), I grabbed one of my base wigs and threw it on.
Altogether, I recorded total of thirty-three (33) different video clips before proceeding to editing the video clips altogether. And the church having two (2) different buildings connected by one set of doors and the main building having two floors and the connected building having three, having to scrounge around on which hallway and which room to use did become a debatable thing for this video. But that could be with almost any videos when having to decide which location to use.
Because this video was a bit of a fun for me to do, I’m planning making another music video, but having to use a remake music to Call Me Maybe, a music originally done by Carly Rae Jepsen and the remake done by a group called Stacks of Wax. So until next time when I do a review of an anime or do another one of these music videos, over and out!
