[#FridayNight] Love to Shepherd from LUV

Last week Friday (August 13, 2016), my church had one of our House Church shepherds, small group leader, whatever you may want to give the title celebrated his birthday a couple of days late on the original meeting date for the House Church (small group/bible study group).

For those of you that may never heard of this thing called "House Church", let me start off with explaining that it's a small group concept that Praise English Ministry, a ministry associated with a Korean church known as Praise Presbyterian Church located in Somerset, NJ, had started just a couple of years back. Through these small groups, it is believed that fellowship can happen where people just come together and break bread. Eat together, and share lives with one another. And these groups are all divided up by sectors in terms of townships and most convenience, as well as in very few of these groups' cases by gender and some times even by if a young working adult or college student if not for a mix. Each House Church is led by a different leader - Whom the church likes to call "Shepherds", and the members are all known as "Sheep". Where do these two terms come from? It's in the sense of how shepherds are meant to lead their sheep to the water in the biblical context as there various stories of shepherds and their sheep in the bible. And also depending who the Shepherd is, the vision of each House Church will be very different - Ranging from helping those with special needs (eg - Autism) all the way to showing God's love and mercy to convicts by visiting prison to spend time with and talk to those behind bars like normal human beings opposed to the criminals that they are seen to be.

Now that I've explained what the House Church actually is, onto why #FridayNight. I am actually part of this very House Church that call themselves LUV. For those of you wondering, LUV stands for Love, Unity, and Vision. We want to spread Love to others, and have Unity in doing so, all the while having to have the same Vision in that we're doing all this in God's love and not just for praise from others. And our House Church leader had his birthday, as stated, a few days prior to our meeting. A good number of people from the church alone got together and put this video together for him as a birthday wish. He was far more than surprised, to say the least, and had a lot of fun watching all the awkward messages.

Happy birthday to our wonderful LUV House Church Shepherd, and many more to come!
