[TBT] Gabriel C. + Melanie H. Wedding

There comes a time when even all videographers and photographers feel the need to throw in something of their own works in from the past to share with others.

For OtakuTO/Otaku World, the time has come where I am doing a Throw Back Thursday. And in spirit of it, we're going to be going all the way back to August 29, 2015 - almost a year ago - to the very first wedding that I (the videographer for this wedding ceremony and the blogger of this site) have ever attended. Not just because I was asked to, but because the groom is a member of my church's English Ministry congregation.

During the interview with the lovely couple, I have learned that they have known one another ever since their college years. And their very first encounter ever was in the dorm of the groom (Gabriel C.) when he had returned after another day of classes. That day, he was in and out of the living room area rather quickly, and saw that the bride (Melanie H.) was playing DDR with few of their friends. And, according to the groom, it was most likely than not the case that the bride had the thought of, "Who WAS that?"

Some time later, the two had slowly began to see more of one another, and, of course, eventually went out on a date. Gabriel, on one hand, was into things like animes like any other otakus would have interest in. Melanie, on the other hand, didn't have interest. But just to try and spend time with him, she had told a little white lie that she did like anime, and their first "date" consisted of baking some treats and watching an episode of One Piece. Of course, Gabriel had taken her out to a more proper date to an expensive restaurant to try and impress the lady, which he later learned wasn't such a good idea with Melanie having to prefer something that was more cheap with good amount of food over something expensive with little amount of food.

Now, let's fast forward 8 years later. After 8 long years of being in a relationship with one another, Gabriel had finally proposed to Melanie. During the toast, Gabriel's best man had admitted that everyone around this couple could see and tell that they were meant to be. That they would be together forever and get married. And to those around this couple, it boggled everyone's mind that these were the only two that didn't seem to realize that. But after 8 years of long distance relationship and fighting through whatever their life had to throw at them together, everyone was happy for them when the two had finally decided that they would tie their knots with one another for good.

With this video now being made out to public, I would like to finally say after ALMOST a year - Congrats to Gabriel and Melanie on the wedding, and may your days together bring you much more happy memories.
