Welcome to another month and another week with Movie Monday!

Today’s first of the three look – Seven Pounds!

This movie is on the slightly darker side as Will Smith portrays a character named Tim, who resides in a motel room. Because of a car accident that Ben had been involved in, there were total of seven people that had died. For each person, he feels the weight of a pound upon his shoulders. For the guilt of each person’s death weighing on his shoulders, Tim feels as if he needs to pay and finds himself on the road to redemption by helping out seven people he doesn’t even know in an unimaginable ways.

Tim has a brother named Ben, who works for IRS, and Tim steals his brother’s work badge to place his own picture over his brother’s and goes around lying to those that are in need of help by telling them that he himself is Ben. How he helps out the people is by asking even one of the people that’s trying to collect money from him for his taxes by seeing which people needs help the most – Whether it be an organ or living under poor circumstances, such as domestic abuse.

One of the people Tim decides to help is his own brother, Ben, who was in need of a lung for wanting to be able to save his brother’s life and allowing his brother to live a full, well lived life with his wife and kids. For rest of the six people that Tim finds, he “interviews” them as an IRS agent to decide whether or not the people he’s targeted help are good people and worthy enough to give direct donations to out of request to the hospital upon his suicide that he had fully planned out in a careful manner.

But whether he succeeds in finding the seven people, six if excluding his brother Ben, right off the bat or not, or if he goes through multiple trials and errors through his interviews, that’s for you to watch and find out if you have not seen his story unravel yet. Who will the total of seven people be that he decides to assist, and in what ways will he assist each one of them? Watch and find out!
