Movie: Night In The Museum

Genre: Comedy

Welcome to today’s Movie Monday!

In today’s Movie Monday posting, all three posts will be dedicated to Robin Williams, who passed away on August 11, 2014. He was, in my personal opinion, one of the most brilliant comedians and actors of all time while he was alive.

In the first movie posting for today’s Movie Monday, I’ll be giving the light to Night in the Museum, a movie where Williams played the role of Theodore Roosevelt statue that would come to life at night in the Museum of Natural History out in New York City, which is under security of Larry Daley, who recently started working, at nighttime.

When Larry starts working at the museum, he discovers that whenever sun falls and nighttime comes, once everyone leaves, the museum comes to life as all the inanimate objects begin to move and wander around to interact with each other. This comes to Larry as a great shock, and he learns how to take hold of the reigns to take charge of it all – Including the living skeleton of the Tyrannosaurus, which Larry comes to name Rexy, by throwing the dinosaur another bone to fetch as if the T-Rex bone structure is an actual dog. And he even gets to meet Sacajawea, and even go as far as learning some of American history when meeting President Theodore Roosevelt when they come to life just like anything else in the museum.

Once getting the hang of how to run the museum at night better, knowing that he may be losing the respect of his own son to his now ex-wife’s new husband, Larry brings his son to work with him to show him around the magical place. Of course, things begin to go wrong in the museum when the tablet that gives the museum its magical properties of bringing all the artifacts to life gets stolen. And it’s up to Larry to bring the ancient Egyptian tablet back to save the day. The question is will Larry succeed in bringing back what rightfully belongs in the Egyptian section of the museum? Or is his newly found job as the nighttime security guard at risk?
