This time, we’re diving back into comedy with Grown Ups in the first spotlight of the day!

In Grown Ups, the four people that stars in the movie that stars as old childhood friends are Adam Sandler, Chris Rock, Kevin James, David Spade, and Rob Schneider. And among those five, four of their characters are married with children.

When the story starts, it starts with the five old friends – Lenny Feder (Sandler), Eric Lamonsoff (James), Kurt McKenzie (Rock), Marcus Higgins (Spade), and Rob Hilliard (Schneider) – as kids on the basketball team together. And just as the buzzer for the end of the game buzzes, Lenny makes the last basket that wins his team the game. Their coach, Bobby Ferdinando, was well known to the kids as Coach Buzzer for always making the buzzer noise. And with this group of kids having been his first and only team to ever win him a championship, he gives them a toast when all five families gather for a party at a lake house. It is also at the lake house that he tells the kids to live their life to the fullest since no one ever knows when the final buzzer will ring.

Years later, when the boys are all grown up and four of five have been married, and with kids no less, they all gather back together for the first time in years. But it’s under a circumstance where they have lost their basketball team coach. Lenny has been the one to be asked to give a speech on behalf of Coach “Buzzer”, which he does with stating how he has been too busy to visit his coach whenever asked to visit due to work in Hollywood. And Rob, better known as Robby, follows the speech up with singing, which only causes the attendees to try and strain a laughter all the while Lenny and Kurt make a 5 dollar bet that he will get down one knee – Lenny for kneeling and Kurt against kneeling. Lenny comes to win the bet as it becomes harder for the memorial service attendees to hold back their laughter, and it’s all released when Marcus ruins what is meant to be a serious moment with loud buzzing sound, signaling for Robby to get off the stage and back to his seat.

Once the memorial service is over, the five friends goes back to revisit the lake house to stay there for the weekend due to Lenny having been generous for his old friends to rent out the place for them. Lenny having to work in the Hollywood and his wife being a famous fashion designer, his wife insist that they leave for Millan, Italy only after one night of stay while the kids expect to leave as soon as possible as well. For Lenny and his friends, because of more and more things having to come up one after another, Lenny tries to find even more reasons to try and convince his wife to stay – One of those main reasons being the fact that he finds his kids spoiled a little too much with all the games, cellphone, a nanny, therapist, so on and so forth being given to them rather than having to have grown up with little to nothing being given to them. As Lenny’s family come to discover what’s beyond just having money, Lenny and his friends come back together as close friends as they rebuild their bond with one another.
